The red flags to watch for
Be wary of someone who declares love very quickly, refuses video calls, invents an emergency or a faraway trip, and always ends up talking about money. These are the classic marks of a romance scam.
Never send money
No sincere relationship starts with a request for a transfer, gift cards or bank details. Whatever the excuse (customs, hospital, plane ticket), refuse and report the profile immediately.
Protect your data
Keep your exchanges on the platform until trust is established, don't share your address, and plan the first meeting in a public place while telling a loved one. Caution is a mark of wisdom.
