Terms of use
The rules for using Rencontre Chrétienne — please read them carefully.
1. Purpose
Rencontre Chrétienne is a matchmaking service reserved for adults who identify with the Christian faith and are looking for a serious relationship leading to marriage. Using the site implies full acceptance of these terms.
2. Access and registration
The site is 100% free and reserved for people aged 18 or over. The account is created with a first name, an email address and a password; the profile is then completed one question at a time, and becomes visible to other members only once it is complete and has a photo. Each member undertakes to provide accurate information, to state their real country of residence and to create only one account. By accepting these terms, you expressly consent to the denomination you choose, sensitive data within the meaning of Article 9 of the GDPR, being recorded and shown on your profile, solely for the purposes of the service. You can withdraw this consent at any time by closing your account.
3. Network and partner site
Rencontre Chrétienne and Christian Love Story (christianlovestory.com) are published by the same person and share a common member base. Your profile appears on the partner site only if you have agreed to it: the checkbox is in your account and is never ticked in advance. Without that consent, your profile remains visible only on the site where you signed up. This choice is free, has no effect on access to the service, and can be changed at any time. Your single account lets you sign in to both sites.
4. Content and photographs
A decent, genuine profile photo is required; photos and profiles are checked by a person on our team. Prohibited: nude, sexual, violent, hateful, misleading content or content that harms others. A rejected photo is removed and the profile stops being shown to other members, with a notice explaining what to fix; it reappears as soon as a suitable photo is provided. The account itself is not suspended. A serious or repeated breach may lead to closure of the account.
5. Member conduct
Each member undertakes to respect others, not to harass, not to ask for money and not to use the service for commercial or fraudulent purposes. Messages containing contact details (email, phone, link, external app) are held and read by a person before delivery. The safety charter forms an integral part of these terms.
6. Moderation
We may check, refuse, pause or, in the event of a serious breach, close any profile, photo or content contrary to these terms or to the safety charter. A pause is announced by email and states what allows the profile to return online. No decision is taken by a machine alone: a person decides. In the event of a serious breach, closing an account may be accompanied by an irreversible fingerprint of the email address, kept to prevent immediate re-registration; a voluntary departure leaves none.
7. Liability
The site facilitates introductions but does not guarantee the outcome of meetings and cannot be held responsible for members' behaviour. Each user remains responsible for their own safety and is invited to follow the safety advice.
8. Intellectual property
All elements of the site (brand, texts, logo, design) are protected. Any unauthorised reproduction is prohibited.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. Members are informed of substantial changes. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
